A code or sign agreed among a group of people in order to keep a secret.

2. password; countersign
A sign agreed among soldiers in an army in order to distinguish themselves from an enemy and prove the identify each other.

3. password
A string of characters that are entered into a computer system, homepage, etc., in order to prove the identity of the user.
