This expression is used to indicate the immediately preceding content, thing or method. It is generally used as part of a variety of expressions, including -는 바로는, -는 바가, -는 바를, -는 바에 대해, -는 바에 의하면/따르면, -는 바와 같이 and -는 바가 있다/없다.

Details

1. This expression is sometimes used as -(으)ㄹ 바, but in such cases, it is used idiomatically as shown in the following examples.

몸 둘 바를 모르다: 그런 칭찬을 들으니 몸 둘 바를 모르겠네요.

to not know where to put one's face: Hearing such words of praise, I don't know how to react.

할 바를 다 하다: 나는 할 바를 다 했으니 이제 결과는 하늘에 달린 것 같아요.

to do all that one can do: I've done everything I can do, so the result is now up to the Heavens.

어찌할 바를 모르다: 기자의 갑작스러운 질문에 김영수 의원은 어찌할 바를 몰라했다.
